Privacy Policy

Anchor Identity, Inc. is the data controller responsible for the personal data processed through the Anchor service. For questions about how we handle your data, contact us at hello@getanchor.id.

Account data: your email address, and optionally your phone number and display name.

Verification data: a government ID image and a live selfie, collected and processed by our identity verification provider to confirm you are a real, unique person.

Connected account data: the public handle, profile URL, profile photo and platform account identifier of accounts you choose to link.

Usage data: basic analytics and security logs such as timestamps, device type and coarse location derived from IP.

To confirm a real human is behind your account, to confirm you control the accounts you link, to show the proof you choose to share, to prevent fraud and abuse, and to support and improve the service.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your ID document or selfie for advertising or model training.

Your public Anchor page shows only what you choose to publish: that your identity is verified, your linked account handles, and your profile photo if you add one. Your ID document, selfie, date of birth, address and document numbers are never shown to anyone.

You control which accounts appear and can remove any of them, or revoke your Anchor entirely.

If you sign in or connect a Google account, we receive the data Google shares with us for authentication and account-linking purposes: your Google account identifier, email address, and basic profile information such as your name and profile photo.

We use this information only to authenticate you, create or link your Anchor account, display the connected account on your profile if you choose to share it, and prevent fraud and abuse.

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your Google user data with advertisers, data brokers, or other unaffiliated third parties. It is shared only with the subprocessors described in this policy (hosting, database, email/SMS) strictly as needed to provide the service, and each is bound by appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.

We do not use Google user data for advertising, model training, or any purpose unrelated to providing Anchor's verification service.

We use an identity verification provider to run ID and liveness checks, a hosting and database provider to run the service, an email and SMS provider to send verification codes, and privacy-respecting analytics. Each receives only the data needed for its function.

Where third-party platforms are connected via OAuth, we request the minimum read scope needed to confirm account control.

Identity documents and selfies are retained only as long as needed to establish and audit your verification, then deleted according to our provider's retention settings. Account and verification status data is kept while your account is active.

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is restricted with row-level security and role-based controls.

You can access, correct, export or delete your data, and withdraw consent, by emailing hello@getanchor.id. Deleting your account revokes your Anchor and removes your public page.
