Using Anchor for transactions
Before money moves, know who's on the other side.
Anchor is a six-digit code the other side types into getanchor.id. It shows their ID check passed, that the accounts they deal from are genuinely theirs, and that they approved this specific transaction — live, right now.
They never see your documents. Only that the checks passed, and when.

Why deals go wrong
The risk is the person, not the listing.
A profile is not a person
A handle, a few photos and a friendly tone cost nothing to create and nothing to replace. None of it tells you a real, checkable human is on the other side.
The money leaves first
Bank transfer, friends-and-family, or crypto to a stranger with a first name and a shipping label. Once it's sent, there's rarely a way back.
Changed payment details
A late message with new bank details is the oldest trick in the book. Confirming the person approved this exact payment closes that door.
How it works
Three steps, once.
Verify once
Scan a government ID and take a live selfie through a regulated provider. About two minutes, and you never do it again.
Link the accounts you deal from
Marketplace, social, and email accounts — proven by logging in, not by typing a handle into a box.
Swap codes before money moves
They type getanchor.id, enter your six-digit code, and see a live page we host with the date each check passed. Nothing to install.
Approval for this transaction
Not "they're verified". "They approved this."
Send a request for the exact payment. They approve it with a six-digit code, and you get a proof page timestamped to that transaction.

What they see
A live page. Not a screenshot.

How to ask without killing the deal.
Sharing yours first does the asking for you. Copy this into the chat:
"Before we go ahead: my Anchor is getanchor.id/a/your-number. Open it and ask me for a live confirmation of this transaction — send me yours and we're both covered."
Create your Anchor to copy thisWhat Anchor does not do
Anchor verifies identity, account control and transaction approval. It does not hold funds, provide escrow, authenticate goods, or guarantee delivery.
Questions
Before you ask.
Isn't it awkward to ask for this?
Not if you go first. Send yours, then ask for theirs — it reads exactly like swapping references, and serious counterparties do it in under two minutes.
What if they refuse?
That's information. Someone moving real money has little to lose by proving they're a real, checkable person.
Does the other side see my documents?
No. The check happens once with a regulated provider. They only see that it passed, and when — no ID image, no address, no date of birth.
Does this replace escrow?
No. Anchor tells you who you're dealing with and that they approved this specific transaction. Use escrow or a payment method with protection for the money itself.
Does it cost anything?
It's free during beta. We'll tell you well before that changes.
Deal with a person, not a profile.
Verify once, share your code before the transfer, and make "send me your Anchor" the normal step on any payment that matters.
